The oldest daughter of revered composer/conductor Leonard Bernstein offers a rare look at her father on the centennial of his birth in her deeply intimate and evocative FAMOUS FATHER GIRL: A Memoir of Growing Up Bernstein (Harper / June 12, 2018). Jamie Bernstein is a writer, broadcaster, concert narrator, and filmmaker (her documentary Crescendo: The Power of Music is now available on Netflix). Inheriting her father’s passion for sharing and teaching Jamie has devised several ways of communicating her own excitement about classical music.
Jamie's reading will be accompanied by pianist Claire Detels and soloist Salman Lee singing and playing some of Bernstein's greatest music.
Tickets are $12/SOMOS & Harwood members; $15 public.
